The finance problems manufacturers run into
Inventory valuation is a guessing game
Raw materials, WIP, and finished goods tracked in spreadsheets — or not tracked at all. Your balance sheet is wrong and your COGS is unreliable.
Job costing is done after the fact
You find out a job was unprofitable after it's shipped. There's no system to track labor, materials, and overhead by job in real time.
Overhead allocation is arbitrary
Rent, utilities, and indirect labor allocated by gut feel — not by a defensible methodology. Your product margins are fiction.
Cash tied up in inventory you can't see
You're carrying too much of some SKUs and running out of others — because your inventory system and your books aren't talking to each other.
Three steps to clean financials.
Cost Structure Audit
We map your current COGS methodology, overhead allocation, and inventory valuation. You get a clear picture of where your margin reporting is inaccurate.
Job Costing Infrastructure
We build job costing into your accounting system — so every job has a real cost: labor, materials, and allocated overhead. You know profitability before the invoice goes out.
Monthly Close & Margin Reporting
Monthly close with accurate COGS, gross margin by product line, and cash flow visibility — delivered on your cadence so you can make pricing and capacity decisions with confidence.
Results that speak for themselves.
Frequently asked questions.
How do you handle COGS and production cost tracking?
We build a manufacturing-specific chart of accounts that separates direct materials, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead — so your gross margin is based on actual production costs, not estimates. We reconcile inventory movements against production records every period.
Can you track margin by SKU or product line?
Yes — SKU-level margin tracking is something we set up during onboarding. We work with your inventory system to ensure COGS is allocated correctly by product. You'll see which SKUs are profitable and which are dragging margin.
Do you work with manufacturing ERP systems like NetSuite or Sage?
We have experience with NetSuite, Sage, and QBO for manufacturing clients. If you're on a platform we haven't worked with before, we'll assess it during the diagnostic and tell you honestly whether we can support it or whether a migration makes more sense.
